**I'd just like to officially apologize to my poor second born child who is just now getting her one year post on the day before she turns 14 months old. **
Jenna is 1!!! I can't believe how fast the first year has gone by, but our sweet Jenna girl is one year old. We took her to Portrait Innovations to get her picture done on her birthday and got some really good ones!
Jenna has changed and grown so much since turning 11 months old! She has finally learned how to go from a laying position to a sitting position and just a day after my last update (on Dec. 23rd) she gave us an early Christmas present and started crawling! She still won't bear weight on her legs consistently (when she turned 1), but we know that is coming soon!

Jenna had her first physical therapy appointment on her first birthday and it went really well! Her therapist, Lisa, was very happy with her crawling form and gave us several exercises to work with her on that will help her become stronger so she can learn to pull up. As you'll see in the next picture she still loves to stick her tongue out, and we've actually learned that's pretty common for babies with low muscle tone. We think it just makes her even cuter!
Jenna is still nursing 4 times a day, and isn't able to drink from a cup. We're working on it, but so far it doesn't seem to be getting any better. If there isn't any improvement soon then we'll consider getting her evaluated by a speech/feeding therapist to see if she needs a little extra help learning how to suck and swallow from a cup.
At her 1 year old check-up Jenna weighed 17 lbs 9 oz (5th percentile) and measured 30 inches long (75th percentile). Her height was a huge jump, and the doctor pointed out that there was a good chance she wasn't measured accurately and cautioned me to not get concerned if she later measures shorter. It's funny he said that because two weeks after her appointment she had a check up with her pediatric gastroenterologist and she measured shorter than before. She's actually about 29 1/4 inches (50th percentile) which is much more likely for her.
The above picture means so much to Cory and me because we know how hard she worked to get to the point of being able to crawl. We're so proud of her! The first several weeks she crawled she could only go about 2 feet before she had to stop and rest, but after that she got stronger and stronger quite quickly.
Is this not the sweetest picture ever? It completely shows her sweet personality and gentleness. We love our sweet girl so much and are so thankful that God chose us to be her parents!
