Our sweet Jenna is 7 months old today, and as always, I can't believe how fast the month has gone. This past month has been a great one for Jenna. She has started sleeping more (although it it isn't unusual for her to wake up 2 or 3 times a night - which makes me sad), and is napping much more regularly. She also has started solids, and loves them! This girl loves to eat, and starts grunting the moment we put her into her high chair. Right now she's eating some baby oatmeal, a fruit, and a veggie twice a day. We're not in any hurry to rush the solids with her though, since her main source of nutrition is still breast milk.
It is amazing what a little more sleep has done for Jenna's personality! She's still a shy little girl who loves to be held by Mommy and Daddy, but she isn't nearly as fussy as she used to be. We're so thankful! She's become a pro at rolling around her playmat in order to get whatever toy she wants to play with (she loves to play with toys!), and will automatically put everything in her mouth. This creates a lot of drool, and her shirt stays pretty wet all the time. She still spits up quite a bit and I'm planning on talking to the doctor about a possible issue with reflux at her next appointment.
Jenna still isn't officially babbling yet, but has started making consonant sounds and is responding to us verbally when we talk to her. I'm so thankful that she has started communicating more, and can't wait for it to take off even more. She is also getting close to laughing (finally). She doesn't do a full belly laugh yet, but when she gets really happy she'll pull air into her mouth and throat making a funny noise that can't really be described.
Another milestone Jenna has reached is sitting up. She isn't completely steady on her own yet, but can sit unassisted for several minutes (unless she gets distracted by something and reaches for it). She still doesn't show any signs of crawling and I'm happy about that! I love the stage of baby hood when the baby can sit unassisted, play, but can't get off the blanket.
The last new thing I can think of is that she has officially become a belly sleeper. We always put her to bed on her back, but will almost immediately roll up onto her side, suck on her thumb, and then roll over onto her belly. Such a sweet girl!
Here are some pictures of our 7 month old - for some reason the ones I took today all turned out a little fuzzy. Sorry about that.
Love this sweet smile! And those teeth!
Too cute! Please ignore the messy table behind her, but do notice the timer that has 2 minutes 30 seconds on it. . . that's Trevor's time out clock. It gets a lot of use these days (haha).

i love the pic with you in the background - that is my "mommy uniform", too!! i have about worn that shirt out!!!
