4 Months Old and Already Behind!

My poor Jenna! She is only 4 months old, and I'm already falling behind on her monthly updates. Jenna turned 4 months old on April 29th. She has really changed a lot since turning 3 months old. She now likes to try to play with toys. She'll hit at the toys that hang in front of her when she's in her rocking chair. She also loves a cute little rattle that she got as a gift before she was born. It's a smiley face that has ribbon loops all around the outside of it. She loves to grab a loop and try to suck on it. She hasn't mastered getting the ribbon in her mouth, but she has fun trying. She loves to suck on her fingers and/or thumb. It so sweet to watch her sucking on the same two fingers I used to suck when I was little. She also loves her paci, but usually prefers it when she's tired and not when she's awake and playing. She has rolled over once from her back to her stomach, but it was when she was in our bed so I don't really count it. She still loves to be talked to, and smiles most often when she has our undivided attention. She is doing a much better job sleeping and will now take several naps throughout the day that last anywhere from 1 to 2 hours. She is also starting to sleep longer at night. This past week she has even slept anywhere from 9-11 hours! It's been awesome for me. Technically, since it just happened last week she was only sleeping around 6 hours at a time when she was 3 months old. She is still exclusively breastfeeding, and my goal is to make it to at least 5 months before introducing solids or formula to her. Jenna had her 4 month check up on May 5 and she weighed 12 lbs 6 oz (25th percentile) and was 24 1/2 inches in length (50th percentile). This is a drop in her growth from her 2 month check up, but our doctor isn't concerned at this point. He did recommend we start her on some solid food just to be sure she isn't hungry, but we're waiting a little longer since she seems to be getting full on breastmilk right now.
