3 Months Old!

Dear Sweet Jenna,

Today you are 3 months old! You have changed so much over the past three months, and every day you get sweeter and sweeter. I've learned that you're not very social, but you are very relational! Daddy and I can make funny faces and noises and you'll never crack a smile, but if one of us looks into your eyes and talks to you then your smile can light up a room. It gets even bigger when I rub lotion on your forehead. I wonder if this means that you'll have just a few very close friends as you grow up? You have started cooing and will coo back to us after we say something to you. I think you're a genius because you've already started copying certain sounds you hear us say. When Trevor and I said hi to you today you responded by saying "Haaa" just like you were trying to tell us hi.

You are doing much better at sleeping and are now spending most of each night sleeping alone. Two weeks ago (March 18, 2010 - 11 weeks 2 days old) you began sleeping in your crib in your bedroom instead of in the bassinet next to our bed. You are such a big girl! You still wake up to eat at least once a night, and it's usually two or three times. Maybe soon you'll start sleeping more at night (I hope). You don't take regular naps during the day, but have started sleeping for longer stretches and I'm very thankful for that.

Your big brother loves you to pieces! He did recently scratch your forehead, but usually only gives you hugs and kisses. Today you smiled right at him when he was laying next to you, so I know you must love him too! I can't wait to see how your relationship grows as you get older.

I don't know how long you are right now or what you weigh, but you're going for a check up on Wednesday and I'll find out your weight then. I think you have gone through a growth spurt (at least I hope that's why you've been eating so much), so I'm very excited to see how much you weigh.

I took some pictures of you today, and actually managed to catch a smile! It's not the best smile you've ever given, but it sure is cute! Your daddy, brother, and I love you more than words can say, Sweet Girl!
