On January 10, Drew turned 9 months old! He had a check up with the doctor and he weighed 17 lbs 5 oz. That put him right at the 5th percentile. He measured 28 inches which was between the 25th and 50th percentiles. I think he might have been longer than that since measuring a mobile baby isn't always super precise.
Drew had been having some growth issues and eventually was seen by a pediatric gastroenterologist. Thankfully, the specialist found no real cause for his lack of weight gain and said he believed it was mostly due to some diarrhea caused by antibiotics combined with a very fast metabolism. He recommended we increase his calories each day and see if that helped him maintain his growth curve. We're happy and thankful that he has been growing well ever since then!
