10 Months

Our little girl turned 10 months old on Oct. 29th. Since it's almost time for her to turn 11 months old, I figured I should actually post her update.

Jenna has been gaining weight well, and we're so thankful! At her last appointment with the pediatric gastroenterologist (about a month ago) she weighed a little less than 15 1/2 lbs! This put her into the 3rd percentile which means she's officially back on the growth charts! I can't remember how long she was, but it was in the 25th percentile. They also give her a percentile for her weight in ratio to her length and that was in the 5th percentile. Her doctor was very pleased with her growth and the amount of subcutaneous fat she now has. She has a check up with her regular doctor on Thursday to have her weight checked again. Although it takes time and money for her to see the doctors so often (about once a month), we're more than happy to do it so that she can grow and develop well.

Jenna still isn't making any progress towards scooting, crawling or pulling up, but she has learned how to lunge for things she wants. This has caused Trevor some stress when he's trying to play with his toys, but he's learning to ask me for help instead of yanking it back. Jenna is also learning how to irritate her brother and will gladly lean over to him and pull his hair! She takes great delight in getting his attention that way.

As petite as our girl is, she eats a ton! She loves food and will cry if we put her in her high chair and don't give her food immediately. She is eating stage 3 baby food right now. We never fed Trevor stage 3 foods (he was eating table food and finger foods by this point), so we're getting used to the wonderful smells that come with baby food meat (yuck). I had planned on skipping this stage of baby food with Jenna as well, but since we are concerned about her weight, it gives me peace of mind to know how many calories she's eating.

She also is still nursing well, although I'm trying to get her used to a cup. I don't know how long I'll nurse her, but it will definitely be after her 1st birthday. On an unrelated note, check out her amazing eye lashes in the next picture.

All in all, we're so proud of Jenna! We are truly blessed to have her in our family and we can't imagine life without her!
